About
If you were to pass through Chester Road on the train you would think that it is mainly a residential area but if you were to explore the area you would find that it is much more.
There is a thriving commercial area 5 minutes away with cafes, bars, restaurants and shops.
Highbury Theatre is even closer and is a hub for amateur dramatic productions and movies. If you venture a little further along the Chester Road you will come to the lovely park at Pype Hayes. It is a residential area but it is so much more.
After covid, local people have come together to adopt our local train station at Chester Road and make it a safe and welcoming space for neighbours and visitors alike. On their daily walks, people had noticed how much litter had accumulated nearby and how weeds threatened to suffocate daffodil bulbs and leak from the embankment and onto the pavements. They wanted to do something about it and to attract visitors to the local facilities that have been so badly affected and the businesses that made sure we had our essentials by delivering to our doorsteps. We are friends of the station, but also of our community and each other.
